The terrible occurrence occurred on May 24, 2023, when police were called to Sullivan's residence after reports of an infant in cardiac arrest. The baby was discovered unconscious and cold to the touch, and despite CPR, he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. Sullivan had aggressively shaken his kid at least eight times prior to the child's death, causing various injuries consistent with severe abuse. In May 2024, Sullivan pleaded guilty to third-degree murder and endangering the welfare of a child. Sullivan expressed tremendous remorse and embarrassment for his acts at his sentencing hearing, while the child's mother and aunt gave impassioned victim impact statements. The judge ordered Sullivan to receive mental health care as part of his rehabilitation. The baby's death has had a severe impact on his family, with the mother going through anguish and having repeated nightmares about her son.

Tyler Sullivan, a
31-year-old Bristol, Pennsylvania native, was sentenced to 15 to 30
years in state prison for the unfortunate death of his four-month-old
son, Timothy, who passed away. Sullivan was charged with third-degree
murder and endangering the welfare of a child after admitting to
repeatedly shaking his son. The incident happened in 2023, and
Sullivan pleaded guilty in May 2024. The investigation revealed that
Sullivan aggressively shook Timothy, causing serious injuries and the
infant's death. The shaking resulted in serious brain damage.
Sullivan admitted in court that he was unable to provide sufficient
care for his son and expressed profound regret for his conduct.
Despite his sorrow, the nature of the crime resulted in a lengthy
prison sentence. On August 27, 2024, Common Pleas Judge Gary B.
Gilman sentenced Sullivan to 15 to 30 years in state prison. In
addition to his prison sentence, Sullivan was required to receive
mental health care. The case has had a profound impact on the Bristol
community, highlighting the importance of child welfare and the
tragic outcomes of child abuse. The legal consequence reflects the

Tyler Sullivan's four-month-old
baby, Timothy Sullivan, was severely injured as a result of intense
shaking and blunt force trauma. He had a damaged brain and several
contusions and bruises, suggesting physical trauma. Abrasions were
also discovered on his body. The Bucks County Coroner's Office
determined that Timothy died as a result of repeated blunt force
injuries, which were consistent with Sullivan's actions, such as
forceful shaking and accidentally banging his head on a bathtub and a
rocking chair.

child abuse. He was found guilty of causing harm to his son Timothy
owing to his incapacity to care for him and personal issues. Sullivan
apologized in court and admitted to shaking Timothy out of rage. His
traumatic childhood, which included a violent alcoholic father and an
untreated bipolar disorder mother, most likely contributed to his
incapacity to deal with the burden of motherhood. Sullivan apologized
and showed his love for his son, but the judge stressed the
importance of accountability and mental health care. The court
acknowledged Sullivan's regret, but emphasized the importance of
mental health treatment.
