Tony Lorenzo Bobo, a Memphis native, became known for his involvement in violent crimes in the early 1980s. In 1983, he organized a heist that resulted in the death of Carolyn Doyle, an office clerk in Memphis. Bobo and his friends were charged with the armed robbery of the Crisp Grocery Store in Mississippi, based primarily on Joe Dean Felix's evidence. Bobo attempted to escape from Riverbend Maximum Security Prison in 1998, stealing a delivery truck and breaking the prison's perimeter gate. His activities resulted in many convictions, including a death sentence for the murder of Carolyn Doyle, highlighting a violent and defiant past.
