Erik Weisz (March 24, 1874 – October 31, 1926), known as Harry Houdini was a Hungarian-American escape artist and  illusionist, and stubt performer noted for his escape acts.

He would die 2 years after this add.

Houdini died on October 31, 1926 at the age of 52 from peritonitis (swelling of the abdomen), possibly related to punches to his abdomen he had received about a week and a half earlier while he was doing a performance. 

Harry Houdini, the famous magician and escape artist, died under rather dramatic and mysterious circumstances. His death wasn’t exactly on stage, but it was closely related to his performances.

In October 1926, Houdini was performing in Montreal when a student named J. Gordon Whitehead asked if it was true that Houdini could withstand punches to his abdomen. Houdini, who was reclining on a couch due to a sore ankle, confirmed this. Without warning, Whitehead delivered several powerful punches to Houdini’s stomach. Houdini hadn’t had time to brace himself, and the blows caused significant pain.

Despite the injury, Houdini continued with his performances. However, he soon began to experience severe abdominal pain and was later diagnosed with acute appendicitis. He performed one last time in Detroit on October 24, 1926, but his condition worsened. Houdini was hospitalized and underwent surgery, but it was too late. His appendix had ruptured, leading to peritonitis, and he passed away on October 31, 1926
